Exorcist:
Believer
For this film, we woked closely with Vincent for costume designs, Sourced fabrics to match to inspiration images, created patterns, cut, sewed, and Aged doll clothes. Phew!
All This, for the custom Voodoo dolls Vincent and his talented Team were Creating for the film. It was an honor, and pleasure to work with this studio.
It was so fun to use our secret Doll clothes skills to make scary things!
Concept art
The project began with the concept art created by Vincent’s team.
The filmmakers wanted the dolls to have a more sinister look than the source material, but still maintain the look of hand made dolls.
Fabric
selection
Here are fabric options considered for the finished garments. We created three dresses and one outfit consisting of pants, shirt and cumberbund.
For one of the Hero dresses we used a 1940s print from my fabric collection.
Pattern
Creation
During the design process of the dresses, a temporary doll body served as our dress form. Preliminary dress prototypes were developed to create the clothing patterns. The patterns were tested with mock ups, and then finals were made in approved fabrics. Once complete, we aged and distressed to give the final product a more ruined and old appearance.
Final
Product
Once the clothes were aged and distressed, we delivered the finished pieces to Vincent for their coordinating heads and bodies. Each custom doll was dressed, photographed, then sent to be used in the movie.
Overall, I’m very happy with the results and feel honored to be part of this collaboration.

the Toji
master
In the 1970s, Scientists noticed that elderly Japanese sake brewers had remarkably youthful hands. Since these brewers consistently immersed their hands in fermented sake, this led to the research of fermentation and its skincare benefits. a cornerstone of sk-ii skincare was born!
To honor the history of Sk-II, a stationary figure of a Toji Master was designed for one of their flagship stores.
We begin dressing the toji master by creating a rough kimono and hakama pants.
the kimono
